Ambitious, audacious, daring, bold;those were some of the words some participants at the Unveil of the Gulder2015 National Consumer Promotion in Enugu used to describe the event.Known for enacting big feats, the Gulder brand was yet again on the score card with a bold, colorful and emphatic event that would linger in the minds of Nigerians for a long time.
Big feats are not accomplished hiding behind a rock. They are displayed audaciously and so it was for Gulder when it chose to unveil the world’s biggest poster at Okpara square Enugu, amidst glitz and glamour. The massive poster was used to herald the biggest National Consumer Promo (NCP) Nigerians will witness this year and partake in this year. The poster which was certified by a renowned chartered surveyor in Enugu state, Dr. Nathaniel Agu, measures 5,367 square meters.
The current poster beats the previous largest poster in the world which measured 4,793.65 square meters and was achieved by Global United Media Company Pvt Ltd (India) in Kochi, India, on 27 June 2015.
The Gulder brand chose to organize the biggest media briefing to unveilthe world’s biggest poster and kick-starting the biggestNational Consumer Promotion. One hundred and fifty journalists, selected from media houses from various states attended.
Little did the journalists know that the very first edition of the Gulder National Consumer Promotion was dedicated to them. They were only informed that Gulder wanted to make a big announcement, but mum was the word on the particular announcement to be made.
One hundred and twenty three journalists were involved in the ‘Ultimate Chase’ and Mr. Chuka Nnbuife who works with National Light newspaper, Anambra State, won the grand prize – a brand new Hyundai Elantra car. The highly elated journalist who did not know he would be driving out of the venue in a brand new car said: “I feel highly rewarded by a brand that I have followed for over 21 years. Initially I never wanted to be a part of the Ultimate Chase but eventually I participated. Nigerian Breweries Plc., through Gulder, has continued to show why it is the biggest beer brand in Nigeria. I thank Gulder for creating this platform which I have benefited immensely from.”
The Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, was represented by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Barr. Sam Ogbu-Nwobodo who commended the Gulder brand for the feat.
He said: “Indeed, this is a very momentous feat and I applaud Nigerian Breweries Plc, makers of Gulder for choosing Enugu as the take off point for this milestone event. Enugu has also been one of the most lucrative tourist destinations for businesses. By implication, Enugu will also be in the Guinness book of world records for hosting this event. In Enugu, there is a continuous drive from government to provide adequate security for forward-thinking companies like Nigerian Breweries.”
The event featured exciting cultural performances by Sama Cultural Troupe from the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu and Ada Eze Cultural Troupe.
Gulder also used the occasion to introduce its new brand ambassadors: Yemi Blaq, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Ill Rhymz.
